Background
The MoU between the UK and Chinese Governments, signed by the Prime Minister in January 2008 includes the following as an area for action: “Work in partnership to create a ‘Virtual Academy’ aimed at addressing the urgent requirement for innovation and change towards sustainable development on a global scale”. The title of “Virtual Academy” translates very badly into Chinese. We therefore prefer Sustainable Cities Collaboration – a network that will deliver training, people, knowledge and ideas into these initiatives.
